Bad Poetry

A great despair rushed through me,
like a river breaks a dam,
it’s how a look can pull you,
your reassuring hands.

The daggers that you cast,
your predatory streak,
wring their necks for me,
bring colour to my cheeks.

Trapping hearts for desire,
soft exchanges, beaming light,
can I tie you down?
the promising ignites.

Scars lash at skin,
you look the other way,
flickering confusions,
you’re not here to stay.

But I am mended when you are near,
heal my wounds that I have feared,
play my songs for all to hear,
Please, love me dear.
